what would be the best cams to use for turbo application?

Postby spikey » Mon Jun 16, 2008 10:30 pm

I have been running Na6 standard cams on my turbo NA6,just wondering if the factory B6T turbo cams would be better, also have a set of Maruha cams with adjustable cam wheels,I suspect they are for Na application but would it be advantageous on a turbo engine?any feedback would be great.
Thanks
Terry

I have been told that cams make very little, if any, difference in a turbo'ed MX-5 engine.
The standard cams are fine.

sean once mentioned that he found the b6t exhuast cam, matched with the stock intake cam, was a good match on a turbo na6. iirc he said it gave a tiny bit more responsiveness / less lag. but yeah most people just stick with stock cams. hopefully sean will pop in here and respond, as my info is 2nd hand and my memory aint the best

Agree with benny, No need for them in turbo application.
