Dual Exhaust systems

Postby FoxForceFive » Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:42 am

Im thinking of fitting a racing Beat Dual exhaust....anyone had any experience with these....or can anyone reccomend a dual exhaust that isnt too much louder than stock for a NA?

I have a MX5 Parts.co.uk twin on at the moment....but find it a little loud...how much difference does a resonator make to the sound, can anyone reccommend this option?

resonators would scrub out some decibels but not much. You can always replace the little resonators with bigger ones that are really very small mufflers. Why not keep the piping system and just change mufflers?
Or if you want to be different and change exhaust note at will, go for a Supertrapp system

great idea in principle but there is f%&k all room to fit stuff.
The best thing to go for is single inlet/dual offset outlet muffler (mr2 et al).
Goodluck.

clicky here to see my first attempt. I have since changed the tertiary hot dogs for oval resonators.
It is a touch loud but it looks great. I am happy (ish)

I am wrecking a car currently with a stainless steel cat back twin system.
It runs the one in two out through a stainless muffler in the standard location. The muffler exits are on the rhs with a crossover pipe running around the front of the muffler and out the lhs side. It is quite a nice mandrel bent system
I have never heard the car run but the setup is for sale if anyone wants it.

thanks guys. the system i have isnt extremely loud....it just that i dont have the best hearing, and am a bit paranoid about buggering it up worse...im wanting something that looks good, but is close to stock sound wise....this system just goes from one pipe off the cat to a muffler with twin tips coming out each side. I might head down to a local exhaust shop and see what they think they can do. Can anyone recommend anyone exceptionally good (and affordable) in Sydney/Sydney North West?
