I had my timing belt done at 110,000
but water pump wasnt done. was told that would be "overservicing". right..

at least I get to pull it apart this time..

how long does the water pump last?

They will generally last for more than 100,000k. Most people just do them with the timing belts @ 100,000 cause most of the bits are apart anyway.

I had an engine with over 180,000 on it on the original pump before it started to fail.

Took it to mania and Dave hooked me up with a new pump and installation - I remember it was a Great price too.

Interesting tough. The pump on my original engine lasted 192k km.
the pump on this engine lasted 75k km.

However the fact that it spent its first 30k km in Japan. Then spent 10k Km in Nick & Matildas racing car I suppose I should give it some leeway.

so overall the engine has done only 75k km .....but seriously hard K's

So 75K - 40K = 35K at Stefans ownership = 100,000 normal klms! :P
