Clutch compatibility and brands

Hi All,
Will a aftermarket clutch made for a 94 model 1.8L bolt straight into my 1002 NB8B? Pretty sure the answer yes, just double checking.

Also, are PBR clutches any good?

Well, a clutch and pressure plate from an NB8C went on my NA8 no probs so I'd say yes.

Yes, all 1.8s and interchangable - and the 1.6s even fit as long as you fit the flywheel (vice versa too).

sh*t sorry! :oops:

I was in 2 minds about it cause there's not much info on PBR clutches. With 10 minutes to go, I thought I'd call PBR directly. Nothing on their website... google them, Clutch Industries make them. Call them, they won't give me a price, have to call a distributer. Called Repco with 4 minutes to go with a part number and the guy is umming and aaahing on the other end. With 1 minute 30 to spare, he told me they are $560... :shock:

So I chucked in a bid of $140 or $150 and hoped it won. I was surprised at $113 but very happy!

). Definitely a bargain. Mine feels like it's exremely close to giving up on me. Feels really spongy with a gradually changing pick-up point.

For Sale: PBR clutch, hardly used. Suit any 1.8L model. :mrgreen:

Yeah I have to agree. The slave on my nb8a felt exactly the same before it gave up. Slippage would be more of an indicator. AFAIK the standard clutch is good for 160k if nicely treated.

Still, good purchase though by the sounds. If your planning on mods down the track even better (if it is just the slave fit it later..).

OT but is new clutch usually a bitt shuddery for a few thousand K's till it wears in? I have the daikin sports tuff clutch that mania fitted - non button, just the HD. Whilst its fine to drive off the line really (a few more revs, say 1500-2k sorts it out) it is a little annoying if I'm a bit lazy with the right foot. A machined flywheel went on at the same time of course.
