High pitch sound behind dash.

Got a bit of an odd one. Randomly getting a high pitch sound behind the dash that kicks in at around 60k and then makes a rotating like sound with the revs as I throttle down.
Got a funny feeling it's the speedo cable. Chatted to a mechanic friend (whos yet to hear/see it) and he said it's common in some Ford Falcons he's come across with the speedo cable at fault.

Anyone had this same issues? & how hard would it be to replace the speedo cable if it is the problem?

I am interested in this one too. I think I have a similar noise!
I always through it was pressure plate related, but didn't stop when I got a new clutch installed.
