But don't rally cars have to run restrictors on their turbo's?

In many categories yes, but look back to the original post, he isn't after a rocket that NASA would be envious of, he just wants to improve the car a little bit.

Yep, but that's on the intake side between the air filter and the compressor. Exhausts are free, and if a drainpipe exhaust and a potato-launcher tailpipe worked better I am sure the manufacturers would use one.

NB - Turbo rotaries are a different storey, hence Mazda put a drainpipe on the RX7 SP as a homologated production part as the old 12 hour production car rules were very restrictive (no pun intended) on modifications to the turbo cars' exhausts.

This is the ol Corky Bell debate ...

This theory went something like \"If an exhaust is too large than the internal turbulence will create more back pressure and reduce power figures\"

Car manufacturers need to build cars within budget and within design rules, including exhaust volume.

Some aftermarket performance shops build exhausts for race cars that don't have noise restrictions, they're in the business of building systems that create more power and/or torque than their competitors product. I suggest you look at their products to see what will create the ultimate power.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

What I would get ...

2) I haven't heard much about Gurus on here lately, I hear the cusco is good, I'd probably just get a mazda torsen if you're keeping it mild.

3) Do the service records show it had the Mazda \"fix\" done to it?

4) Teins (not as expensive as the Bilstein and have a huge range of adjustment)

Have you noticed that SP shudder mid corner when feathering the throttle?

From the SP guys, how did you solve this and how much did it cost?

I agree with Okibis answer to 2 and 4.

Other than that, I drove the SP around Morgan Park and QR and had NO trouble with flutter whatsoever mid corner or anywhere else. Of course, this particular SP is bog stock.

I found it present on the road, where it was lower revs and very light throttle (since the boost kicks in so low on the SP).

Dad always used to say when handing me the keys; \"Drive it like you're going down to the shops, or drive it like you're trying to get there.\"
