After reading that info the only ones I would touch would be ryco or genuine. Although this does not take into account the micron or flow ratings of the filter. But one can summise frome the thickness and area that the ryco and mazda filters are by far the best. And as for a dodgy o-ring, im sure you will be able to pick up a manufacturing fault from any mass produced product but thankfully with ryco it is very very rare. Also I would go for the ryco's square oring before any of the round ones, more surface area on the seal is much more likely to work I figure.

Which Dealer?

I pay $12 at Mt Gravatt but have to buy 4 to get that price?

Centenary Mazda - $7.44 + GST

The Mt Gravatt mob are a rip-off. They once tried to charge me full RRP for a set of plug leads at a supposed 10% discount.

Just picked up a couple of purolator filters from supercheap, about $15 each, seeing as the spoke well of them on the big forum. We shall see how they go in my poor longsuffering engine.

Well, now that we have spoken about filters, what oil does everyone use?

What would you recommend for a motor with 115,000kms, and the motor being a 1.8?

What viscosity & Brand?

Hi JBT,

Thank you for the link, after reading through the below posts, i will just go genuine with the Oil filter.

I have AMR across the road from me, has anyone bought parts from them recently?

Are they reasonably priced?
