I can think of two possible causes.

1. Clutch is not disengaging properly, possible cause the cutch slave cylinder is leaking.

2. There is a small switch attached to the clutch pedal. In combination with another sesnor in the gear box it tells the ECU when the car is in gear and when the clutch is depressed.

I didn't seee any switch on mine(or I just dont remember) when I had my box out to do the clutch. I would first suggest checking the slave cylinder to see if it is leaking and therefore not properly disengaging the clutch.

Two switches on the transmission. Passenger side is reverse switch and driver side is neutral switch.

There's 2 on the clutch as well, at least on the NB8B's there is.

1 is the initial clutch out and 2 is the cruise control disengage.
