Well I knew you would like it but due to the weather (its raining in canberra today ) I wont be out tweeking the map today . Was hoping to up the ignition timing in the top end to about 25deg on 7psi and 20deg on 14psi but the rain makes it hard to get the power to the ground

all i need now is a number to go with all the talk :D
And hopfully a big number :D

After getting it back to the shop put on a new belt on it and managed to get the boost back up to 9psi but still with belt slip  O well still a great wepon on the road :D

Well it has been about 2 years in the make
Basically I fell over the supercharger and then found somewhere to hang it
On the motor. I had a spare in the conner and spent countless hours making braketsamd oil feed and drain lines . then the engine was striped and the head ported and polished and the manifold plate was made and post matched to the head All the valve got a triple angle cut and the valves were unshrouded . then the engine was rebuilt and the old engine G/box diff all came out of the car . the new engine 6sp and 1.8 torsen diff was bolted back in t (that happend over Xmas) then the manifold was started and the intercooler was trial fitted ( remove the A/C condenser and lines work them out later) . After the intercooler was in place the outlet pipe from the charger was made along with the pipe to the intercooler . the manifold was started and after about 6 week I got the thing made and looking good. Then make a pipe from the IC to the manifold and then work out how to fit all the A/C lines in around the IC. With all this done everything got filled with oil and water then the moment of truth the first start and damn the battery has S**t it self
Out with the jump battery and Vroom its alive YAY [:)]
After a week the charger came back off to fit a blow off valve bypass to try and reduce the noise then a week of running in and tuning and off to the Dyno that’s were it gets sad
I was hoping to make over 140 KW and its not that far away more time and research and we will get there

Top Fuel drag cars are supercharged because the rules say they have to be.

Yep same reason they run mechanical injection, because they are made too not because it makes more grunt. I heard a few people that know what they are talking about say that they'd make more grunt they they ran turbos... but the last thing the governing bodies want is them running any faster.

Reckon bang for buck turbos are better and especially with making outright grunt. You'll always lose more to a supercharger than a turbo due to most of the power being extracted from exhaust gas. The only thing that is good about superchargers is it's much easier to get them to work with carbies, given they behave much more linearly.

Pupat your are right about turbo bang for buck I am putting a T25 on my 1.8
and so far the cost is yet to reach $1000 ( already have a computer )
but the S/C's low down grunt is one of the most brilant thing you will ever experince  I just need to keep that S/C from slipping

Russel: I've been in RhysK's superchargered one and it's rather nice. It's neat how well it'll pull from no revs in high gears.

Personally I like turbo's especially since you can control the pressure levels with a simple valve rather than a lathe. Not that you can with a supercharger, just gets a little more complicated. That and lining up pulleys with DIY kit looks like far too much effort to me :P

Though SC belt whine is way cool.
