NB8A Centre Console Lid Hinge Repair

Again I can't find any posts on this forum about this. Double checked this time.
I've got that plastic hinge that looks like it will inevitably break after a certain number of uses.
Plenty of posts on the US sites about this. Initially I was going to go the 2 small hinges and paint them matt black. Then I was going to do the long piano hinge and also paint it matt black. In the end I went the Bear 24mm cloth tape and it looks like it might last.
I cut a strip to the required length, then cut this down the middle into 2 x 12mm strips.
Removed the padded part of the lid from the rest of the lid.
Run a strip of the cloth tape down the inside and the outside of where the previous plastic hinge was. Made sure the tape was 100% pressed and adhered.
Result is doings exactly what I want and is probably a little more discrete than using hinges.
