NA8 style rear subframe bracing for NA6?

Is there a bolt in solution for the NA6 to achieve rear subframe bracing similarity to that of the NA8 factory rear subframe brace?

From what understand the NA8 unit cannot be retrofitted as it requires mounting tabs for installation which are missing on the earlier NA6 models.

Yeah, the NA8 unit isn't PnP. Don't know if there's a total COTS solution, but years ago a couple of forumites developed & made available the Tight Ar$e brace for the NA6 which went in just ahead of the rear muffler. Very similar to this but at half the price: https://www.flyinmiata.com/flyin-miata- ... brace.html
NA6 owners also frequently obtain the NA8 brace that runs between the seat belt tower just above the rear parcel shelf.

Thanks. That brace looks like it braces it for left/right side movement. The NA8 ladder brace looks to focus more on front/rear movement.

Is there much further benefit in this if a roll bar is already fitted on the rear parcel shelf?

The simplest straight bolt in one is like this:

I seem to recall the later NA6 (or maybe NA8?) had a similar brace to that, except it used the Alignment bolts.
Been a while since i've been under an NA.

For reference, the pic you've got is the NB setup, specifically the NB8B, since it's also got the extra cross bars towards the front of the car, and the flat panel thing further up again.

The NB8A only had the rear ladder section, with the front two bars not connected by a cross bar.

If you want to isolate front-rear mvt then you'll have to look into something custom, ie: welding tabs on.
or look into using an NB rear subframe and braces.

Yes, your first pic is not an NA8 brace - it is like the white one pictured but just a simple single bar straight across.

Ok, thanks. There was an add for sale of what was described as an NA8 brace but must have actually been NB then. It clearly sent me down the wrong path then...

I’ve got one of the alignment bolt rear braces from MX5 Mania fitted already.

It's actually NB8B.
My NB8A, & I think the NA8, came with the 2 longitudinal bars, & only the rear most transverse bar (right next to the muffler). I ended up making the 2 transverse bars forward of the diff.

Probably not if the roll bar links the seat belt towers - I say that as a few NA6s have suffered from a shimmy in that area at certain speeds which defied other solutions.
