Hi guys, I'm looking for advice on removing a stuck dash vent on a 2006 NC. Have tried various thicknesses of plastic in the 3 & 9 o'clock positions to no avail. Very reluctant to try the pulling it out with string method. Suggestions appreciated.

Hey David, have you swapped the NB for an NC? Re your question, there might be a guide in here:

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the useful link. No, still have the NB though it may have to go, we're downsizing. Flew to Perth to collect the NC & drove it back to SEQ. Great trip tho would have liked more time. As we got it from a dealer we had 48 hours to get out of WA - felt a bit like Bonnie & Clyde on the run :-) Ah, the Nullarbor, not to mention the cruising speeds..... I prefer the look of the green NB (poor man's Jaguar D Type) but the NC is such a great touring car.
Cheers,
david

Yeah, great road trip, but pity you had to depart WA so quickly.

We're thinking of doing it again more slowly & including some Victorian roads

which dash vent are you looking to remove.
the one on the RHS of the steering wheel Is just clipped in (you'll have to remove the dash trim panel to get the vent out.
if its one of the centre ones, you'll need to remove your headunit, there are 2 screws holding the long dash trim on, also from memory there is a nut, or small screw behind the strip. you should be able to see it when you remove the glovebox. do that and the whole strip will come off.
all the vents are secured from behind, so you will need to remove the strip either way

Thanks for the advice, Regie, it's the passenger centre one. Looks a bit more complicated than i thought.
