So the Miata guys seems to froth on using Honda Shin-Etsu grease to lubricate their windows (e.g. http://wiki.miata.net/tiki-index.php?pa ... Window+Fix ).

My passenger side power window has significantly slowed down now. Seems that the Honda Shin-Etsu grease is not so easily sourced locally. Any recommended suppliers or alternative products? Is it just a silicone based grease?

Should be able to use any rubber safe grease.

White lithium grease is one of the more common ones if i recall.

I bought it on eBay. You only need a little so it's not a great value proposition. White lithium would do the trick just as well, like hks said.

The important thing I found was to remove the glass and probably the runner from the door and thoroughly remove any old clumps of grease. Use a cotton bud to get into the channels. And remove and clean, or replace the bushing on the glass.

It seems like a lot of work, but the changes are drastic.

I guess this is the route I'll have to go when I can bring myself to take the doors apart again and face getting more tar on my clothes and hair.

I tried the quick and easy fix with WD40 silicon specialist spray. nup that fix didn't last long.

Rolley posted a great DIY on replacing the window guide bushes that describes disassembly and cleaning procedure.
He was selling replacement guide bushes a while back, maybe worth contacting him to see if he has a spare set available.
