89 NA6 - should there be a rubber boot around the indicator and wiper stalks?

Should there be a rubber boot for the indicator and windscreen wiper boots on my JDM 89 NA6 or is it meant to just have the open gap?
If so, any recommendations on where to reasonably source replacements?

There certainly wasnt a big rubber boot over the stalk ends etc.
I seem to recall it either having just a flat piece of rubber with a slit cut into it, or maybe little brushes.
Either one did minimal at actually stopping dust getting in, since the cover is open at the back, and front where the wheel does.
They really just stopped bigger bits falling in there, but by it being vertical, gravity stops most of that too.

FWIW, no rubber around the stalks of my 1993 NA8 owned since 2004. Fairly sure the 1989 NA6 I had from 1990 also had no rubber around the stalks.

Cheers for the replies. Must of been a weight reduction thing leaving them off!
