Hi,

My 2005 NC Sun visors no longer stay in the "up" position. When I purchased it in May I discovered that the passenger side visor would not stay up of its own accord and that the previous owner had attached a velcro pad to secure it up and out of the way when not needed. The driver's side visor has now developed the same issue, so I employed the same fix BUT in the sun today the adhesive attaching the velcro softened and I returned to a car with both visors down.

I am guessing this is a common issue with a common fix, but could not find a mention on the forum. Anyone else had the same issue and developed a more robust solution?

Not NC specific and a bit ghetto but you could put a bit of tape around the shaft to hold it more securely as a temporary measure.

Usually happens when the visor is pushed too far.
It's only designed to drop vertically, not hard up against the windscreen.
That's generally why they fail.

Ended up doing some wider net surfing - even coming across an interesting argument on whether its is faulty design or faulty user!

Solutions varied from gluing, screwing or otherwise refixing the split plastic visor to the metal rotating pin, through screwing the visor to the frame (permanent 'up'), using magnets or bulldog clips to keep it up, and finally removal or replacement.

I like the magnet idea so have invested $4 on ebay and will see how it goes.
