I've been searching and can't find much info so thought I'd ask the question.
Are the Mazdaspeed seats ok to use with a harness? (4-point anti submarine type). As in, are the shoulder holes capable of supporting forward and downward force in the case of a crash at the track or are they just there for "looks" and the harness straps would rip the holes downwards along with my spine?
Looking at these as proper bucket race seats like the Sprint V are not designed for "lady hips".
Unless someone has any suggestions for NB race seats that don't scream "defect me" on the streets.
Black MS seats are very subtle.

Re: Mazdaspeed Seats and Harnesses
I cant offer any proof on their ability to withstand a crash, i do know they were never ADR tested, perhaps because no one wanted to offer a seat up to be destroyed. The seats are well built and bloody comfy though... and i have a pair of the black gradation type (with headrest emblems) sitting around looking for purpose

Four point belts are not 'anti-submarine'. For that you need 5 or 6 pointers. And that seat does not look like it has the hole for the crotch straps.
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

4 point Anti SubMarine harness: https://www.schrothracing.com/products/rallye-belts
I imagine he's noticed the seat not having the hole for a 5th strap, and is likely why he is considering a 4 point harness.
Back on topic, not sure if you've seen this thread, but David suggests that the MS seats are certified for racing in Japan. Maybe you need to turn your search in that direction (Japan, or David) for further guidance.
There was apparently photo evidence of them being made to go with a harness, which is no longer hosted, but the image was from his pictures folder, so he may still have it stored somewhere.

Re: Mazdaspeed Seats and Harnesses
Side bolsters aren't high enough for trackwork but high enough to be annoying for DD entry/exit.
Lateral support is excellent.
