Brackets for Sprint Junior

Excuse me if it has been covered, I did do a search but didn't find anything.
Who here might have pics of how the mounted a sprint juniour to the passenger side of NB?
I am aware you need to modify the rails a bit and maybe build a bracket. Just looking for ideas to use as a guide.
Just a reminder that Sprint Juniour has bottom mounts, not side mounts like the Sprint V.

If there is a thread with pics you know of, please link and I'll read that instead. Thanks everyone.

Havent done it for a Sprint, but have for other seats and it's all much the same.

You have two options.

1: use MX5 rails and make adapters for rail-to-seat.

2: Use generic rails and make adapters for rails-to-floor.

The main issue is that one rail will need to move sideways to line up with the mounting holes, the bracket is usually as simple as making a plate up with holes drilled to locate bolts to the rail, then another pair drilled to locate the plate to the seat.

Not an MX5 one, but essentially you'll end up with something like this:

Personally I prefer the generic rail and adapt to the floor method, since you have more room to work in, and more space for the extra bolt heads (it can be pretty tight under the seat)
The method is essentially the same, just at the floor instead of the seat.

Make sure to use good materials for it all, high tensile bolts with washers to spread load, and 3mm steel at a minimum.
Dont use aluminium, it's not strong enough in the thicknesses you'll be needing.

you'll want an angle grinder, some files, a drill, a tape measure, and come work clamps.

If you've got a bench grinder and a good heavy vice your job is easier. (the floor adapter method often needs the steel to be bent, a vice lets you do it neatly and fairly easily.... not as well as a proper sheet metal folder, but hey it's not like you're starting a fab shop)

Was hoping to make use of original rails for engineering purposes. Seats will be engineered so they're legal. Unless hand made one's are legal.

Also looking for pics of someone who has done it.
I unfortunately don't have easy access to tools now.
So looking for ideas so when I do it I have an idea ready to go.

Anytime you are having something engineered, talk to the engineer before you pick up any tools.

You end up with better work, faster work, and cheaper.

Otherwise you may end up making the brackets and having to re-do them to meet the engineers requirements, wasting your time and money.
talk first, and the engineer can point out things they see that wont pass before you even make a cut.

As for OEM rails vs generic passing engineering, again, talk to the engineer, end of the day it's their report saying it's all safe and legal, so see what they want.

Yeah a mate of mine is a certified rms engineer.
He's happy with stock rails. And said minor brackets will be fine. So I was going to show him some ideas to see his thoughts re certification for said ideas. Rather than me attack it and modify the rails and have to do it all over again.
