RHD Phone mount

I've been looking for a way to mount an iPhone in the cabin but I can't really seem to find anything on the market which currently fits my needs, I was wondering has anyone found a phone mount which is strong enough for track days and spirited driving as well as being out of immediate line of sight (not mounted to windows or windscreen)?
So far i'm pretty set on something like this
http://www.mossmiata.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=80390&SortOrder=1 but I don't think they were ever made for a RHD configuration, has anybody had any luck finding anything similar that's not the Brodit mounts?

These are a little expensive but work well.
I have used them in a variety of different cars.

I bought one of these, used the dash mount and placed it next to the cluster. I superglued all the bits that can move and swivel so it stays put. Havent tested on track yet but has handled some spirited driving.

Have you used this in an NB mx5? I'm just worried with such a big phone such as the iPhone 6 plus it would sit too close to the gearknob, A/C controls and stereo. i'm also worried it wouldn't allow for landscape use of the device for the same reasons, does anyone have any experience with these mounts?

Also I should have mentioned with the other two links mounts, i'm looking to keep it off the top of the dash as much as possible to avoid it taking up space, that Zoom one looks good but it would probably restrict view out the windscreen.

Buy a generic phone holder, then buy some aluminium L section (or flat section)
Bolt the alu to something in the cabin (console side bolt likely easiest, under the rectangle cover) and then bolt/glue the phone cradle to the other end of the alu.
Should be rock solid, and you can pick how high/where it's mounted.

I use a Ram X mount with a ball plate screwed to the side of the console below the dash on the passenger side. There was an old phone mount screwed on there when I bought the car, so holes were already there. It's the best phone mount I've ever had, and fits any phone. You can buy model specific mounts if you prefer.

The links you gave me don't work but is that the mount which sits on the centre console next to the stereo holder? I have an iPhone6plus so i'm just worried it would interfere with changing gears being so bulky or also making it difficult to use radio controls.

I have the (holdmyphone/clicon/Brodit depending on country) mount that clicks on next to the stereo with the adjustable iPhone 5/6 holder.
For me it is a good fit and does not get in the way of a standard height shifter nor does it stop me adjusting the stereo.
I can post a pic later tomorrow if you would like.

About to install the Brodit unit for my iPhone 6s Plus over the weekend. A quick test last night looked like it will be spot on. Bought the powered mount but swapping the supplied cable for a standard Apple usb cable and running it back through the to the Pioneer AVH-X8850BT head unit so I have CarPlay functions.. As it happens my first two mods to my recently acquired 2009 PRHT..

The unit looks reversible, ie rotate it to mount the other side of the console?? You want to mount it in the passenger side footwell, correct?
I been thinking of getting CD slot phone mount since playing CD's has become redundant on my Sony MEX headunit.
None of the slot mount units available on the market appeal, each have fundamental flaws and too much clunky plastic.
Might rub my hands together and get MacGyverated, then fashion something out of some balsawood, chewing gum and half an apple.

I would like picture if it's not too inconvenient? I haven't ever seen the iphone 6 with the cradle i think you are talking about which is the one i want but for the iPhone6s. Thanks! also if the mount allows can you please show a picture of it in landscape as well?

They stopped producing them sadly! i have looked at those CD ones but I don't think a CD slot is meant to hold the weight of a phone out the front of it i wouldn't be surprised if it damaged the CD player internally
