Club rego?

Ok guys, this is the first time I will be looking at registering anything on club rego, what are my options?
I pick up my car MX5 1990 model in a couple of weeks, it is currently un-registered,
I know that I need to get a road worthy and that I need to join a club of some sort.
I am from country (Daylesford) Victoria, Australia, what are my options?
