central locking issues 2001 NB8B

So for a while now I've had an issue with my central locking but I can't figure it out.
The issue lies with the remote feature. When I lock it with the remote the passenger door will lock/unlock but the drivers side won't, but sometimes it does work as it should. This leads me to believe it isn't the motor that's died. When I lock/unlock by putting the key in the door it lock/unlocks both doors. When I lock/unlock using the black bit in the door it also lock/unlocks both door perfectly fine.
I've take the door card off to have a look but there isn't much to see
This all comes after installing the garagestar bushes and they weren't aligned properly to begin with so I wouldn't doubt to blame the harder slams to close the door being the cause of this issue, anyways anyone got any ideas on fixing the issue?

The remote central locking on my nb8b would take 3 or 4 clicks to work when I first got it.
I disconnected the battery for a few hours to do the stereo, and when I plugged it back in all the locking issues were gone.

could it be as simple as the FOB battery running down?
probably worth swapping it out if you haven't already.

The remote works perfectly fine as it locks the passengers door perfectly fine, it just seems as if the drivers door gets "stuck"

CHECK out
http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/index ... 045.0.htmlThis fault has happened to me on a 2001 and a 2002NB8B. The motor gets clogged up with carbon and becomes lazy and will not operate the locking mechanism. Both times I cleaned the motor commutator with fine wet and dry and lubricated the locking mechanism for a fix. The simple thing would be to replace the motor. The above link shows in detail how to repair this problem in great detail.

Thank you for sharing that, I will try this next time I have a spare day and report back if it doesn't work!

Are the motors interchangeable between left and right doors? If so, and if it was an easy enough thing to do, maybe swap them over to see if the symptoms follow the motor. If they do then you can be fairly certain, but if the problem stays with the original door then you have something else to look at.
