NB Offset number plate help please!
Has anyone tried to fit an OMGpham offset plate bracket onto an NB8B or later? Does it block the fog light? If yes what bracket would you guys suggest?

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
The offset looks terrible. To be symmetrical you can mount the Nbr plate in the mouth opening using the standard bracket and a little tinkering. You would need a slimline plate.

Hey morlock, I already have a slimline plate on the front I just prefer the offset look but also love my fog lights haha. I know once you get Personalized plates they can offer you a "USA size plate" so doing that is probably my best bet to achieve a offset number plate which doesn't block the fog lights
Or custom mount here we come

I have a garagestar offset bracket for 'nb without fog-lights'

It is the perfect size for VIC plates and it's A+ quality.

But the symmetry defeats the purpose of the offset.

This will make your MX-5 run hotter
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
Yeah i'm not keen on closing up the mouth at all and it seems like it's not all that possible since I want to keep the foglights...
I might try make a thread with all the different types of brackets so people know how each bracket looks for each car or something

I know it doesn't help you, but I got a half width plate because it was easier to offset and I never used the foglights anyway.

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
I just ordered an import sized plate from nsw rms. 12" by 6" (jap and usa size)
So keen for offset, if you try with standard Aussie plates it blocks the foglight on NBs and I think that looks pretty bad.

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
If you put the offset on the passenger side, doesn't this sit right in front of the intake duct in the opening for the Air box?
(there is an angled piece on the passenger side of the opening directing air up into the passenger guard)
There is no ducting on the drivers side so i would assume that would be the preferable position?

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
Garagestar make a bracket for the nb2. I assume it's the same length as my one, it just has less offset.
No idea if vic roads offer the jap size plates. I'd love one if they do them.

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
If you have an NB8B an offset number plate is simply not an option unless you want to also remove the fog lights and have two holes.

Re: NB Offset number plate help please!
Best option is probably to stick it to the front bumper just below the headlight
Or
Just get a really powerful drivers side fog light and remove the passengers side one and use it as ducting for the intake.... I just like having the foglights on 24/7 so people see you... So many stories of people hitting mx5's because they were too low to be seen.. (I have owned an mx5 for a total time of like a year and a half now and i've never actually had an issue with people not seeing me but rather be safe than sorry i guess )
