Hi guys,
Just wanted to get opinions of those who have own Sparco Sprint seats in their mx5. Are they comfortable to sit in ? The high thigh support looks to be too high and could see it be uncomfortable.
What are your thoughts?
Cheers
Steve

For me, the seat is very comfortable.
I am 6'3.5", so the stock seat had me at the end of the seat travel and I felt I sat on the seat more than sitting in the seat. I did fit but not the best position for me.
The Sparco is mounted on factory rails, this gives me a lower seating position and has allowed me to be one stop short of all the way back. The back rest is more upright which at first felt a little strange but I have come to like it. I tried putting a small spacer under the front to lean it back but that was not an improvement.
The only down side for me is there is more effort required getting in and out of the car as the sides limit the access. For me it is acceptable compromise.
As for comfort, I thought it would be worse but have been really surprised. My car is only a weekend car and the longest drive has been from Sydney to Wakefield (300km) and it was great fro this drive.
I would recommend the bolster protectors, without them it would not take long to damage the outside of the seat.

Did the high thigh bolster made it uncomfortable ?
I've read some reviews on the seat and people have said the thigh bolster is too high making it uncomfortable.

For me, No.
It is a different position and certainly narrow in the shoulders, but when you hold the wheel with 2 hands your shoulders are forward anyway.

I couldnt see the high thigh bolster making any seat uncomfortable, if its a narrow seat that can make it uncomfortable since you would be squished in the seat. Best thing to do is sit in one either in a car or go to a local performance parts shop and see if they have one. A seat is a big part of a car and one that might be comfortable for someone may be very uncomfortable for someone else.
I have a sparco sprint v in my NB8B, which is also my daily driver and I find it comfortable. I needed it for extra headroom due to my height which worked a treat. Getting in and out is more difficult, out more so which can be a pain but its not a huge deal. Biggest issue I have with that is since Im so tall I cant drive in shoes but then I cant put my shoes on in the car when I arrive somewhere since the side bolsters are tall there isnt enough room to move my legs about to get my shoes on. Again not a massive issue but just another thing to point out.
In saying that, any proper bucket seat will have that issue and the high side bolsters and will be more difficult to get in and out of. You just need to sit in one preferably in a car so you could take it for a drive and get a proper feel for it see if its comfortable for you.
