Difference between NB8B and 8C seats

Postby bruce » Sun Jul 20, 2014 10:39 pm

Hi,
I'm swapping my Sparcos for NB seats.
I've read to avoid NB8A seats. But what is the difference between 8B and 8C seats? Which is better?
If I swap, will the NB clasp receiver unbolt from the NB base, and bolt onto an NA base (is there a hole for it)?
Thanks guys.

I have an 8C. Seats are the same as all the 8B I've seen.

I don't think so...

The NB8B and C have different material from memory. Both were available with leather, but in cloth, the 8C (JDM) has more velour type material, whereas the 8B has a more woven cloth type material. Both are nice and heaps better than the 8A which (except for leather equipped models) had crappy seats.

Thanks guys.
Anybody know if the NBs seat belt clasp can be unbolted and then bolted back onto an NA base?

NA6 has the long seatbelt receiver mounted to the transmission tunnel, but NA8 has the short seatbelt receiver mounted to the seat base, though not sure if the NB one will fit.

You can put an NB seta on an NA base and vice versa. BUT the NB has the belt clasp integrated as part of the seat rail, whereas it is bolted to the tunnel in the NA. You need to swap seat rails if you do the swap, or use the NB rail with the integrated clasp as I think the NA belt clips right in...?

Thanks guys. That's the answers I was after.
It means we'd have to modify the NB bases to accept the Sparcos on the spot.
Might be a case of bringing your ute to drop off NB seats/pick up Sparcos, and do the mod at your leisure.

Damn it must be early in the morning... Right you are, NA8 had same setup as NB
