Hi,
I have been told that this Velo GPT1 seat fits in an Nb Ok. Can anyone who has fitted this seat confirm this and if it in fact fits OK and is easy to fit?

Cheers

I had them in my NA and the shoulders/wings hit the upper door card trim on the drivers side and I had to remove the upper trim on the passenger side to get that door to close. I think the NB door cards give even less room than the NA ones do, so it is going to be a very tight fit. If you can do a test fit of them before you hand over any money.

I don't think you can close the door on an NB. I had something very similar from U.S. then I sold the seats to a commodore owner.

I have seen a fibreglass Velo seat in an NB, but the outside shoulder wing edge had been cut back to fit - not pretty, but quite functional.

I tried to fit a GPT-1 to my SE with a PCI V2 set back mount. Didn't work out. Being tall I couldn't get the seat back far enough and the wing hit the door card quite badly. To make it fit you woul have to fit on a big angle with your body facing towards the front right wheel. Would probably work on a car with a stripped interior. Nest with another seat unfortunately. Velo products are top notch, just not built for MX5's :(.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the Velo seats are not an options.

Cheers.

I was at the Velo factory and was talking with the guys there about not being ableto fit the GPT-1 and they said the GT-Apex would maybe fit. But thats just speculation. What I've found is you'll have trouble fitting a seat with wings any wider than a Sprint V, to a car with full trim.

Tried googling? I've seen paired velos fitted to mx5s. Someone here sold a pair that they had fitted.

Wings touched door cards for memory but nothing chopped.

I have seen GP90 in an NA. Last time I looked at Velo seats at a race shop they said that you can actually do special order seats including trimming the wings down and finishing the seat properly. You probably only need to take an inch off.

This link has suggested seat dimensions that work the best: http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/seats.php

These are the Velo specs: http://velo.com.au/site_files/421/velo% ... 0chart.pdf

Best thing you can do really is take your passenger seat out and go to a race shop and see what fits!

Velo milano are the seats that will fit into an mx5.

Hjt had two of the extra large ones fitted in his sp.
