Soft Top Not Lying Flat

Hi guys,

My soft top doesn't lie flat when put down. I've seen other NAs with glass soft tops and they lie down fine. So I'm not too sure why is angled up. I bought the car with this so I did not install it. If someone can help me make it flat, that would be very appreciated!

It won't lie flat when it's cold.

Try parking the car in the sun for a while to stretch the top a bit

Yeah I remember my nb roof wouldn't sit flat until I went over some bumpy roads or it started to get some warmth into it :D

If you adjust the position of the glass, you'll see that the softtop will lay flat. I leave home at 6.45am so I know exactly what you are experiencing.

Try adjusting the glass with your hand as you sit the roof down they do get a little tricky sometimes.

My glass window NA top takes a few goes to go flat. I think there's something too tight in the soft top around the window that means I have to carefully force it down from around half way, lowering and raising it a few time until it settles.

Another vote for this, I have to do the same occasionally in cold weather with mine.

+1 Cold weather, I did destroy a pair of sunnies one day trying to get the roof down crushing them underneath

I recently forced mine down a bit hard and popped some webbing that runs down beside the window, out of its keeper on one of the roof bows. After that, the roof went down much easier. Now that I have put the webbing back, the roof is had to lower again. So maybe part of the problem is a roof that is to small/tight.

I have an aftermarket glass-window soft top in my newly acquired NA. I discovered recently, much to my delight, that the glass window actually zips out which means it now lowers easily... it was hard to fold down flat before. The zipper was hard to see.. if it's an aftermarket window, might be worth taking another look?

Lucky you. Mine is aftermarket but the glass is fixed in place.
