Exchanging boot lids
There must surely be a simple way to disconnect and reconnect the wiring for boot lights and the third brake light if you exchange boot lids? Where is the connector?

Someone out there knows the answer to this and you're just teasing me.

Re: Exchanging boot lids
The third brake light if I recall has the plug right up near the light itself.
It's pretty awkward to get at.
If you're changing them often, I'd suggest instead cutting the wire at the hinge end and simply soldering a plug on.

On the NA the bulb is held in place via a bracket, you can just twist and pull out the bracket and then connect it to the new lid no?

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Re: Exchanging boot lids
just open the boot lid and take a look. There is a break out loom going to the high-level brake light and to the licence plate lamps. Standard formats is a wedge base bulb holder for the brake and probably the same on the l/p lamps- you might need to check the l/p lights to see if they have to be snapped out i.e. held by sprags on the lamps. Usual is merely to remove bulb holders and that should separate the loom from the lamps.
