Removing Body Kits

Seen a few MX-5's with body kits on them (side skirts, front bumpers, rear always looks factory though)
Are they of any worth?
Personally, I prefer the stock look. Is it hard to get it back to factory or has the body been permanently modified? (holes in skirts?)
I rarely see stock standard skirts for sale....so little worried about buying a car with a kit, not being able to get it back to standard.
Never had much to do with body kits, so not sure where to look or start. Would like to know if its not going to be a super costly exercise to get it looking standard again.
