The original link is a Style Bar, NOT a Roll Bar.
If you just want it for looks then go for it but in a rollover it's dangerous since the mousetrap may pin you to your seat if it snaps forward.

That original ebay link in first post is definitely a style bar. For the price and the description, it's designed for looks only so if you're aim is to make the car look good then this may do it.

Do not rely on it protecting occupants in the event of a rollover. Just look at the lower support beam and mounting brackets, how thin it is.
Basically don't fool yourself into thinking this is a rollbar.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bar was made out of intercooler piping

Second this!

Done a lot of research and this is by far the best option (features/performance/cost) available at the moment, probably why I bought one!

A bit off topic, but does anyone know of a roll bar that can be installed in a mx5 se that doesn't require the wind blocker and back speakers to be removed?

If yes, is it any good?

That is one option.

There are a lot of threads as Morlock says. Do a search, it is not hard  Tristan, windblockers can be re-installed if that is what you are asking.

It's not for the SE specifically but here's an example of one solution with the MX5+ bar, the price being a little less seat travel backwards.....

I'll be looking at alternative options on my SE when I've installed my bar, watch my garage thread to see what I come up with.
