HELP! '05 NC really bad water logging under passenger seat

Hi everyone,
I've recently purchased a 05 mx5 softop and absolutely loving the car and community.
However just yesterday as I washing the car the footwell on the passenger side began FLOODING with water. I immediately googled the problem and found out it was quite common with these earlier NC soft-top models. Here's a pic of where the water logging occurred and how it looked like after I got rid of the water:
After doing some research, Ive learnt it was likely due to blocked drainage of water running down the softtop. I checked the little drainage holes behind the passenger seat and can actually see runoff water sitting there when I shine my torch on it. So I grabbed some pipe cleaners and stuck them through the holes trying to unclog whatever debris it may be. But it doesnt seem to work and I cant find the actual tube/hose the water runs down on. So here is a pic of the holes where I stuck on pipe cleaners through. The brown residue is where the water WAS sitting. This pic was taken after I allowed the water to dry out.
So since this didnt really work I decided to try work my way from the bottom up. Here is what it looks like- (the hole at the bottom middle of this picture)
I tried sticking the pipe cleaners through in here but this method doesnt seem to work either. I cleaned out some of the small debris but water is still not flowing out freely. It is still only trickling out slowly and still continuing to build up on the footwell.
I understand this topic had been brought up years ago on the forum and mazda has since upgraded the drainage with subsequent models. Are there any NC owners who have encountered this same issue and may give me some help? Or even better any NC owners who I can meet up with around the Sydney area able to help me fix the problem? My only real other option if it all fails is too take it to mx5mania but they arent available until Feb next year. Sadly the mx5 is just sitting in the garage until the issue is solved. Any help with be greatly appreciated!!
