Removing black goo on inside of door trims?

I have ignored this for a while - left the clear plastic sheet on when I removed the door trim and used race tape to cover over any exposed black goo.

Has anybody successfully gotten rid of this gunk? How and with what?

Gets on everything. Thanks!

WD40 & turpentine works well in removing it, also throttle body/brake cleaner.

But try the WD40 or turps first as they are not as strong/damaging to the paint.

That stuff gets everywhere if you don't watch out. I got it off my hands and various places inside at home (it gets everywhere!) with metho.

Thanks guys went with a combo of wd40 and turps. Works wonders. Still a bugger to get off though, horrible stuff.

It's a job worthy of shaving the hair off your arms and legs....when that goo gets on the hair it's a bugger to get off! lol

Glad the recommended solvents worked!
