Anyone know a local source for one of these?

Anyone have one they want to sell? Group buy?

Any reason it has to be a local source? Email Jetstream directly, they'll be able help you out.

Thanks, I've looked at theirs as well.

If there's a local source, I'd like to have the option first even if it costs a bit more. Also open to buying it off another member.

Personally, I really like the Barchetta Shorty Console http://rev9autosport.com/nb/interior/barchetta-shorty-console-nb.html

I have a Barchetta one in my car that i grabbed off the forum. I love the elbow room I have gained and I no longer end up with my elbow in the useless cup holders.

If you care for such things I would pull your centre console out now and have a look at the surround of the fuel and boot levers and the couple of other holes in the carpet that are left and see if you can live with them. You can buy a trim piece to go around the fuel and boot levers but for silly amounts of money.

oh and be careful removing the window switches from the factory console, the little tabs on it are very fragile. Ask me how I know and why my window switches are held in to the shorty console with race tape

Contemplating getting any NB centre console, cutting it up and making my own!

...but the Barchetta one is OK priced if delivered for $200.

This would be fun for a laugh, but $350 for two bits of plastic, and no where to put the garage opener... tell him he's dreamin'!

i think its worthwhile. it gives the car a better interior feel.

it should be noted that the fibreglass is VERY strong and high quality.

i was lucky and got mine when rev9 had a free shipping promo.

Apu- making your own- why not have a go - it's not a safety item. I would guess the OEM moulding would cost Mazda less than $10 .

I bit the bullet and bought the jetstream because I wanted to be sure the finish would match the stock dash.

When I have more time I might play with a DIY solution.

I thought that as well, but I like the look of the Barchetta one better, then maybe flock that and a few other things to match...oh well...we'll see. Too many things on my plate right now.

I paid 24,150yen for my JS shorty console which is roughly $250 directly through Jesse Streeter (plus shipping)
Rev9 is good with their communication and Max is great to deal with but if you don't feel like being charged double just for the convience of pressing a button vs sending an email it always pays to shop around.
Edit: price was for both the console and boot/fuel release cover, under $200 if you just want the console.
