I have received today my carbon fibre hard top that I purchased through the group buy by Kikuchi, upon opening the packaging, I have discovered a 30cm~ long crack on the underside of the hardtop near the edge at the front (where the soft top latches would connect to) and a chip in the carbon fibre on top in the same location. Obviously I'm not that impressed with it, and have sent Kikuchi a message. My main concern is how easily fixable is this, and would it affect the overall condition structurally.
I will upload photos soon.
Thanks

Re: New hardtop with crack - help
I would definitely push for an exchange or refund.
Otherwise, if you get a significant discount...you could drill a hole on either side of the crack and fibreglass it or fill with some sort of clear resin.

its not fit for purpose - provided of course no evidence of damage you need to pursue a replacement. You need to sort out who to deal with - its not going to be sensible if the item has to be returned to the seller at your expense.

Thanks for the replies, I'm waiting to hear back from Kikuchi, and I'll go from there, I'm getting someone to come down and access the damage and repair costs if it's valid repairing.

Kikuchi got back to me, said it should just be a direct swap for a new one. All seems good.
