moss

mx5mania - ebay
$270+post vinyl plastic - no rain rail

And further, some quotes from local trimming shops in Adelaide:

$1600 vinyl plastic

Robbins tops seem to be well regarded and that's what topsonline are selling. Just based on the fact that their price is lowest, that's what I'm leaning toward.

Ive had a bad experience with the prestigetops, difficult to fit. The back where it folds down looks worn and lose now.
Next to no customer suport, or advice, in helping to fit the top.
Also if you complain about it they threaten to take legal action against you.

I got a new Robbins vinyl zippered glass window soft top with demister fitted with a new rain rail by Castle Trim for $1950 in Feb this year. Pretty happy with it. They could of installed it a bit tighter though as there are some wrinkles in spots.

FYI:
Finished fitting a new Robbins vinyl glass soft top today. Was about $650 delivered (with rain rail) from gomiata in the US.
Long job, some fiddly bits, but definitely worth it considering it saves you a grand or two!
Thanks for your help/advice.

Hi
I just fitted a Robbins Streamline glass window with rain rail, to the NA - It will not latch - 2 of us pushing it cannot get within 70mm of latching? Pretty pi$$ed of - have fitted others inc OEM, without that problem.
Did yours latch ok Inksta?

Hi Guran
The second Robbins on the top row is the one I bought from Moss Miata when they were having their 30% off sale Maybe they meant 30% less vinyl
Moss answered an email on the same day and asked for photos so I sent photos and a video.
There is now way it would shut and it is so tight it will not fold down with the glass window staying stuck to the vinyl.

I went with the glass demister top in vinyl from prestige auto tops
$375 delivered, and installed myself.
Pretty good top. Looks almost factory (except for the lack of flaps around the rear window)

I am staggered at the price differentials- can you really get a quality product for $375 when others are talking double and more. The standard soft top is no cheap bit of junk- a lot of work, very sturdy material etc and these things get a lot of work. The original design was designed to stand up to typhoons and snow falls ! Experts I guess will know what is the fabric weight and strength which of course ends up being an important factor.
