hey,
let me start by saying sorry sorry for the crappy pics and lighting.

SO! I have been giving my car a "black and red" look, and the interior just didn't look right with the silver/grey trim stuff. really like the "carbon fiber" look. i can imagin alot of people not liking it because its fake or something? but i really like the look.
bourght a 1mx1.2m peice of vinyl. was like 20 bucks free delivery. set out to do the trim around the gear stick and head unit stuff, then the vents, im really bad at stuff so they turned out crap! but i like the look even it it looks really dodgy, matches the other trim :D. then had a hell of alot left and thought i would do the spoiler lip thing. yea... that didnt work.
took a few pics if anyone cared haha

the difference looked alot more noticable in the car, not so much in pics haha
it also has a nice feeling to it, like 3d texture stuff :D

I wasn't a big fan of the faux-chrome (ie. silver-plastic trim) either and went for genuine chrome instead.

If you decide to replace the head unit, change the heater fascia to black too to match it, otherwise it looks out of place. You can either buy a new fascia, stock NBs come in black, or use black vinyl dye like I did. See http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=38070&hilit=saga slideshow in first post for details. Even after 4 years, no-one would know that it wasn't originally black.

I just vinyl wrapped the whole lot. See my garage thread http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/download/file.php?id=7183&mode=view

What I realise now is that I perhaps didn't wrap enough around the back, and with the flex and movement, I've got a couple of wrinkle points. Oh well, happy to do it again when I have time.
