So I got the damn thing removed, finally, and I came across something strange.

Is it common to find an aftermarket kit glued on to the stock kit? Unless I'm wrong, but thats what it looks like :)

Best way to get them apart? I don't want to risk ripping either piece, however I'm willing to rip the aftermarket section if it means saving the stock section.

How are they stuck together?

Is it actual glue or black sikaflex?

I'll get closer photos.
There is black sticky stuff on it, but I don't exactly want to tear anymore away in fear of breaking it.

I believe some front kits, like the racing beat type 1 are glued over the lower section of the bumper. Have no idea the best way to remove. Maybe do a search on the big forum?

You could try a heat gun to free up the glue

This is the inside of the stock bumper. Needs a good wash :P

These spacers were used to make the reflectors flush with the aftermarket bumper.

Might try a hairdryer and a sharp knife to get them apart....

Some aftermarket bumpers are manufactured as half-cones, so they attach to the bottom half of the stock nosecone. I'm assuming it was glued on with sikaflex.

I remember researching how to remove sikaflex a while ago, and someone suggested removing it with a caramel wheel (an attachment to a drill) and to polish up the area after. A blade/knife should be used to get the outermost part of it off since it'll easily scratch the bumper once you try and the remove the parts closest to the bumper.
