Anybody installed a roof vent in a hardtop similar to this?

No but i'd be tempted, perhaps if there was a design that helped suck hot air out too.

A vent in the glass or removing the glass would work!

Have you tried calling LSM advanced composites in toowoombar. The guy is a rally nut with a few lasers, has similar vents he makes in house.

do you have the website that lists it for 425?
autosportdirect lists them for $599.
http://www.autosportdirect.com.au/itemdetailspage/15403i have a carbon fibre hardtop coming and this would make it awesome.

I made a few posts in my garage thread. All I have left to do is paint some things black to match the inside of the hard top.

http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=705864#p705864My thoughts on it are that whilst it does do its job (brings air into the cab) it is at the expense of noise. I have flipped the 'grid mesh' over and will see if the noise is reduced somewhat next time I get to drive it. However a comment was made that why not just take the top off and I may have to agree that this could be the best solution to more air in the cab especially as I have joined the group buy for the vented windows.
I note that you are attending Kev05's 'Sunday Feb 3 - Bris. Forum Day Cruise' run and I would be more than happy to let you take my MX5 for a drive and you can see for yourself what it is like.
