Rejuvinating the NA ashtray

It seems quite common for the ashtray to fade to a brownish-grey colour that looks terrible in the otherwise black interior. I've tried 303 and Mother's(?) trim detailer, but the results never last long. I have some leftover black "vinyl and plastic" spray paint that I used to re-dye the seats so today I decided to try it on the ashtray. I just gave it a wipe with a damp cloth, let it dry and then sprayed a few light coats on it, one right after the other. It dried very quickly and the ashtray now looks as good as new! Give it a try if your ashtray is looking faded too!

looks good Mark
My old one was was still in pretty good nick, just looked "dusty" and I agree that 303 doesn't work so all I did was use a bit of detergent water with light scrubbing and went over it with Meguiar's tyre detailer and it worked a treat too.
