Recaro Fitment

Postby Signition » Mon Sep 03, 2012 3:25 pm

Hey guys, i was wondering, would it be possible to run a Recaro SPG on the drivers side (RHD) without the seat excessively rubbing against the doortrim or other, is it even possible to run the seat with the door being able to close? Also what would i have to do to modify the stock seat rails to fit the Recaros?

Thanks :)

Yes, it fits your Commodore perfectly.
Ya gotta tell us which model! Assuming it's an NA - everything rubs except some super slim Japanese seat.

NA and NB are about the same as far as seat fitment goes.

The only real difference is the seat rails, the NA rails are quite simple to modify for some base mount seats.

The NB Rails also include the seatbelt stalk, which means the seat base must be rather slim to fit correctly (bending the mount too far weakens it...... this is bad for seatbelts)

I have fitted an SPG on cobra side mounts in my na8.
It fits snugly, without excessive rubbing though I adjust the seat with the door ajar to minimize rubbing the upper door trim.
