Mobile detailer and ding removal

Postby Apu » Sun May 20, 2012 10:46 pm

Just bought a used DC2R and would like to get the swirls polished out, and to give the car a good polish as its faded in spots. There are also a number of dings I'd like to get rid of.

I did a but of patch polishing and could bring the whine back but I just don't have enough time to do it.

Any of our members here own a detailing business I can patronize, or recommend one?

Do yourself a favour and give Andrew at dentrescue.com.au a call, hes at West Gosford, also next door is a detailer.

Andrew is THE best dent guy, Ive had 4 cars done by him.

Thanks but West Gosford is a bit far!

Should have said anywhere north shore, north west or city area.

Apu, it's a slow cruise up the Old Pac through to Gosford, and probably shorter than going anywhere in the North Shore if you take the F3.. If Andrew can get my car anywhere near how tidy ForceMajeur's car looks, I'm surely taking my car there ... one day...

City people are hilarious, like the ones who wont go to mania cos they live 50km away.
("I need to know the best place to take my mx5 for some performance advise, Im in Sydney near the CBD, wont travel to mania, too far, cant be far past surry hills...")

Living in the city with so many choices so close makes people lazy.

But young Dann, not many people have 5 hours of time on a weekday to do a return trip... Not to mention the traffic to and from the place.

Anyways, back to OP. I heard some good things about OCD Detailing?... Quite popular in JDMST?...

Yup, taking a day off just to get the car detailed doesn't really appeal to me. Saturdays are out with all the kids activities and damn these tradies who don't work on Sundays!

Anyway, think I'll do the detailing myself. Did most of it last night - just need to polish.

Looking for a mobile ding removal guy now.

But wont it take longer to do it yourself than to drive to a decent shop and get it done professionally?

Depends on if there's an intention to do other cars again.

A basic polishing setup can be had for about $200 (Machine, a pad or two, bottle of polish)
A pro will charge probably $200 to do a detail.

If you've got limited time, and only want it done once, a pro detail makes sense.
If you've got some time, and intend to do the car more than once, buying the gear is cheaper (Pads machine will get many uses, the polish depends how much you use each time)

Its in West Gosford not West Australia.

Anyone who can handle a drive up the old pacific Highway will be well rewarded.
