So does anyone else have the same problem I do? My carpet has always had pretty poor fitment, basically where the carpet meets the door sills, there isn't enough carpet to tuck under. So I can see the red body exposed under the carpet.
Is it possible mine has shrunk? Nomatter what, I can try to pull it up but it's a tight fit as it is and there just does't seem to be enough carpet.
It's been like this ever since I bought the car

Standard carpet is stapled to holders that go over the pinch welds area. If its been torn it will show a gap

It is a fault and the result ,I think, of some overvzealous cost cutting.My NA is the same and i packed under the floor to lift it.There are staples but with the standard carpet they are not really up to the job.

If you were a concours judge you would probably take points of if the carpet wasn't like yours Josh as it would show that it had been "modified".

Try packing it and see how you go,

I have the same issue in my NA8, further towards the front near the door hinges.
Did you have go at packing it up? How did it turn out?

I wonder if you heated the carpet up and tried to stretch it? You could wait for a stinking hot day (but then you'd rather be in the shade).

Still waiting for a suitable response/outcome.. has anyone found a fix to this problem without replacing the carpet altogether?

I flat out gave up. My solution ended up being "don't look down".

On a serious note. Mine has been like that since I got it. Everything else was immaculate, so I figured it was something I couldn't change.

I had the same problem on my NA8. I thought it was because the carpet was short or dodgy. It wasn't until I purchased some stainless steel door sillls that I investigated the problem.

You have to remove your door sills either black plastic ones/ or stainless steel ones. Under the sills you'll find a platic strip that clips onto your carpet. (Most likely from my experience the staples have come off) Reclip the carpet to the plastic strip that clips on the side of your car. Once you do this put your carpet back toget and voila! Everything should look good.

Let me know if you don't know what I'm talking about I can take some pictures. But once you take the sills off you'll see it underneath.

i emailed Knox Auto Carpets and they said they would probably be able to reproduce our carpets if they had a template (and fix the issues with the standard sizing).

my carpet is great, but if someone's interested in new and better carpets it would be worth a go.

There's nothing wrong with the carpet. It's onlt that the staples have come lose. The carpet is stapled onto a plastic trim that locks in place under the sills. From daily use and being a old car the staples have come lose.

When you take the plastic trim off, you'll see the stamples and the alligning staple holes under the carpet. Re-attach it and your good to go. (Look underneath the edges of the lost carpet for the stample holes)
