wheels as per audi tt rs

Postby Novice1 » Thu Mar 01, 2012 10:22 pm

Interested in peoples opinions . I have a grace green nb8a and would like wheels painted same as, only in green, not red, with black anthracite on spokes.

Current wheels are Enkei Rf1.

Feasability, cost, opinions.

I've not seen replicas of the TT-RS in much smaller size than 19", so how close do they need to be to this design?

There are other designs with a similar bending shape, if that's what you want.
However I wouldn't think you will find many wheels with the lightness of your current ones.

I guess your best option is something to fit an original Mk1/Mk2 Golf GTI since they are 4x100, so you may get somewhere.

My MX5 15x 6.5 wheels were originally on a Mk1 GTI and they are a Lenso lightweight wheel. Maybe you will get lucky with a similar kind of wheel, so you can try to replicate the Audi RS style wheels.

I'd suggest to save the money.

The ones on the Audi look like one of those cheap wheel and tyre packages that kids buy on finance.

And I personally think that after a few months they'll look old fashioned and dated.

I'd stay with the RPF1.
It may not the be "IT" wheel right now, but it will always be a nice looking wheel where others become old fashioned.

Remember when these were all the rage:

I think you guys have missed the point. Novice1 wants to paint his Enkeis in the same colour scheme, NOT buy new wheels (as he only got the Enkeis a few months ago).

IMO, because there is less contrast between matt-black and grace green, it would look better than the "look at me" scheme on the Audi, BUT it will make your car look "ricer" than "racer".... people would look at you and think "awww isn't that cute, he's taking his daughter's car for a drive"

AND it'll add extra weight.

Get someone to photoshop it for you before taking the plunge.

On annother note, you coming to the run tonight?

Exacto mundo. Paint not replace.

I must be a ricer and a tosser as i think the audi wheels look brilliant.

Car is still not tuned and I have a bit of a foot injury.

I don,t mind being chauffered tho in my car.

Deal

I'm not having a dig at you re "ricer" comment, I'm just saying that some colour schemes work better than others, eg. colour matching your Speed Racer Decklid looks awesome, but if I did the same with my old car it would look balls.

No worries. One mans food is another mans poison. I am happy to be a ricer.
This time I will not forget to fill up with petrol beforehand. Duh!
Cheers Ron
