NB Headlight adjuster...?

Looked in my handbook and it says to use the adjuster next to the ciggy lighter ....but I don't have one
Did someone take it off our models?
Seems there's a long bolt sticking up from the low beam light itself which I'd guess is an up/down?
Is there a highbeam adjustment somewhere?

It's probably for European models.
My Mondeo has a headlight height adjuster, it's to cater for towing, or weight being carried in the back.
Since an MX5 does neither of these much at all, it's not missed.
Anyway, the headlight adjuster is the long bolt/screw out of the headlight from memory.
I don't think high and low beam can be adjusted separately.

the adjusters are integrated in the headlamps - vertical and horizontal. Just lift the bonnet ( not the hood) and you will see them - usually hex head and Philips. That is the standard set up for most headlamps. When you adjust you can see the effect quite readily. The simplest way to get a good adjustment -if 'your' mechanic as one is to use a beam setter - no need to wait for nightfall. The NBP2 has an excellent low beam.

I think it's an adjuster for the low beam lights only, but that's ok...the high beams seem well adjusted - and rather good too!
Silvia method; go out on quiet road at night with spanner, stop on flat section, turn on warning lights, adjust setting. Repeat if necessary until perfect.....
A passenger may cause need for resetting.....suggest ditch passenger at nightfall.

Parking space facing a blank wall. No need to worry about traffic then.

Nothing like real on-the-road experience though.
A few blinded oncoming cars and you are then set correctly

Most cars that are smashed require adjustment.
Panel beaters can only do so much sometimes esp. For the money comapnies like aami and just car pay.
In some cases u may need to re-allign ur actual headlight.

A re alignmment with a beam setter is a 5- 10 min job max.
