I had some Autokonexion Type 1 flares up for sale a while ago...now that someone wants to buy them i cant find the bloody things...but I digress. It got me thinking about running some flares again.

so the question is...
For you guys that run flares, what kind of attention do you get from the Police? BTW, I live in Perth
Any steering or handling issue's from running big ass 8 or 9 inch wheels and big rubber?
Does change the character of the MX-5 adversely?

I have the smaller version of the autokonexion flares on my white na, no attention as of yet but I'm waiting for it, I have 15x8-0 wheels and it handles pretty well

I'm starting to get the passion back for this build and the flares with some wider wheels might do it but i don't want to take the innate feel out of the car...that and the unwanted attention. I have time...the FCM shocks and Frog braces still haven't arrived

had flares for almost 2 years and no specific attention.

That's that type of answer i was expecting, I don't know what it is maybe if it looks thought out the cops leave you (anyone) alone. My understanding of the regs is any 5 running flares would be over track and therefore liable to a defect.
