Hi guys,
I bought my hardtop in a different colour and I just need to get it painted in the factory Mazda gloss black (code PZ). I would like the rear glass to be removed and the rubber seal to be replaced too. How much are we looking at for an OEM quality job?

Thanks!
Paul

i would suggest that you will be paying more like 500 as i had a hardtop done about 3 weeks ago and i didnt get the rear seal replaced! i was charged 500 so i assume if you want them to remove the seal and window and replace the seal it will end up being more than that!

cheers dale

We had ours done in white (cheapest paint materials, no tinting) and it was $500 cash with everything but the rear window removed. Rear window rubbers are one use only and expensive.

Look into having it Vinyl wrapped....It looks like paint when done well and much cheaper.

paint is the right product and applied correctly- baked etc it is a very durable product. Bear in mind the cost of labour and the charge out rate for the booth. You can easily get charged $80-100 per hour in a first world country.

Hi,

I'm in the same situation as the OP. I bought a different color hardtop.

I would like to get it painted to match the color of the car. I am not keen on wrapping it.

Is there a good paint shop you can recommend I can take the hard top to?
Would prefer that they know what they are doing as I will consider removing the seal/window to get a proper job done.
Hopefully the price to be around under 800. Is that posible?

Thanks guys

If I need to paint my hardtop, I would seriously consider vinyl wrap. In particular the carbon fibre look.

i got quoted 250 to vinyl wrap my hardtop with the carbon fibre.. just bog up any cracks and wrap it. if guys are game enough to wrap entire cars with it then it'll be fine. check gumtree.

any professional paint shop will be able to do the job. Best try a few places where it is convenient and get some quotes. Ask what it would cost cash and you might get a better price.
