Eggs suck!

So... last wednesday I was walking to my car at night only to find an egg had been baking on it all day.

Some one has reversed into the front of the car... gotten angry and had an egg handy?
I've rushed home and washed it off. Picked off the left over egg. Washed it again. Waxed and polished it..

The paint is cut/gouged out in seemingly 30 dif spots where the egg hit... but luckily no dmg where the egg had dried.
Front bumper is scratched and deformed a little, and fender is out of place by 3-5mm.

I've just got to keep telling myself that Karmas a b****...







I've had a quote to respray the front and back bumper, side fender and bonnett due to this egg. $1100. Doesn't seem too bad to me.

Some people are just a waste of Oxygen.
I always bring a bottle of Meguiars Quick Detailer as it does wonders with bird/bat droppings, and I'm sure would have come in handy here.

That sucks so hard!!
I brought home a brand new TJ Magna in Sable, a black with very slight dark green fleck.
Parked it outside my home in the middle of a summer afternoon and came out a few hours later to find 3 eggs had been thrown at it.
The paint was pitted and crazed where the eggs had hit...they really must be strong, and the egg after washing off had left a bloom on the paint that was impossible to polish off.
Boot, roof, two doors and a rear guard were resprayed.

I wonder at the mental capacity of some people!

Don't know why people are hating on the MX5's... I have had 2 tubs of yoghurt thrown at my car now (on separate occasions) .

I'm not sure exactly what damage you have left... It sounds like the paint has been chipped??? If not and there is residual egg I found that clay barring the car worked really well when my car got hit by an egg a while ago.

Hi.
This may work to get off the egg residue its the same as getting of tree sap.
You need a bucket rubber gloves very hot water and washing up detergent sponge and a hose.
You will usually find the gloves and detergent under the kitchen sink.
Mix apply and hose off immediately and no it will not hurt your paintwork.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

I ended up using white vinegar which brought it all off. Nothing can be done, save a respray, for where the egg actually hit and gouged out the paint though.

It sucks sometimes having an MX5, you become the target for alot of morons.

I had two full cans of soft drink thrown at my car while I was driving on Sunday. Nice sunny day, roof down, coming home from a day out with the misses. I pull up to a set of traffic lights outside Southland shopping centre, on the Nepean Hwy. I heard some bloke yell something out, I couldn't see anyone and the next thing a can of drink smashed into the road cm in front of my car and exploded. A second later another can hit the road just behind me and sprayed bits drink all into the cabin, I didn't wait for the light to turn green and just went through the red. As i was driving off I looked back and spotted a group of kids in their late teens having a jolly good laugh, Im just glad they didn't hit the car, it would have done a decent amount of damage. Destructive jealousy is a pain in the ass.

Thankfully my MX5 is egg-free. Who throws an egg? Seriously?
