New paint job

Postby Apu » Tue Jul 12, 2011 5:21 pm

I'm thinking of giving my car a new coat of paint as the previous owner got into a minor bingle and...unfortunately used the cheapest / crappiest repairer he could find (based on the poor quality work!).

So I'm thinking of sending the car in for a respray but it's quite likely going to need to be a reasonably significant job - the paint is poorly blended, clear is flaking off in places, paint on rear bumper is cracking, etc.

I'd like to get a proper job done - the shop should be taking off the bumpers, lights, windscreen seals, etc. I'm in no rush to get this done (but probably won't do anything until after the September track day for obvious reasons!).

There's also some dings I'd like to have rubbed out.

I visited Hume Smash Repairs site, but bugger...they are right on the other side of town for me. Does anyone have a painter to recommend on the North / Western side of Sydney?

Zac from Crowsnest Panel Repairs did a great job spraying my body kit with my last mx5 and I believe that he's also done a good job with Rob's car as well.
