Water Leak - Passenger side

NA 1993

Has anyone else solved this one.

I get a stream of water coming from under the dash, in the middle of the passenger side, when i go around a sharp right hand corner.

My guess is it is rain water as opposed to a/c condensation water. The radiator system has anti fleeze and is green. The water coming down in clear. I can see no obvious hole in the tray where the wiper assembly is where windscreen water runs into.

Does it leak onto the carpet or under it.
Have you used a torch in the dark to check for holes (will need assistant).
Does it occur when it rains or washing.

Hi

Leaks onto the carpet. Couldn't see anything from above or below.

After rain or washing, does not leak, needs some G forces when going right.
e.g. can takes week to see, depends on cornering

The opening for cabin fresh air is under the black plastic cover/ drain (if present) on the top of the passenger side cowl area below the windscreen in the engine bay. If it's not coolant or AC water, then it might be a bit of water somehow getting into the cabin fresh air opening & collecting until you corner hard. It's certainly possible for leaves etc to collect around & on top of the opening, which is then hidden by the black plastic cover/ drain.

Make sure that the ac reservoir drain is connected to the drain hose , mine wasn't and drowned the passenger footwell !!!

I know it has been ages since the post but i never resolved it.
i.e. the area in the engine bay seems clean and clear.
As i often run the a/c when it is raining for demisting it is worth checking RED93s idea
but how do i gain access ?

is it a hand up the side feeling around job or a removal of panels job ?

All fixed!! so i post for others...

Just 2 screws to remove the glove box and the a/c unit is there.

It wasn't that the tube down from the unit was not attached or blocked, but the tune coming out of the unit.
I poked some plastic tubing up it and water poored out...

So what was happening was the well was filling with a/c condensate and when you went around a right bend it slushed the water left and leaked out the join between the fan assembly and the a/c unit. As the band around the two is loose (perhaps some spacer missing for the clip to set against) the water would have had no trouble leaking out.

The clue for other in hindsight was the water was colder than rain for a fresh lot.
It the water was the water from previous runs it would have been at room temp so you can't rely on this test.
