hey guys,

With the na hardtop, do you have to take out the softtop,
or just pull it down and put the hardtop on and just leave the softtop down?

Cheers,

Easy one, just pull down the soft top down, leave it there and then put the hardtop on.

You'll need the rear bolts ('Frankenstein bolts') and the side latches to mount the hardtop too.

And welcome to the forum! Are you new to MX-5's?

Ah easy as,
I'm new to the forum, I hope to get another mx5 soon,
I had one a while ago for a first car but had very little experience and wrote it off.
wasnt driving like an idiot, I had just never experienced oversteer.
I figure any car I get I'll just be comparing it to how great that car was so I'll just get another one and learn how to drive properly.

Thanks!

Happy to help.

Sorry to hear about your last car... It sounds like you have the right attitude and appreciation so I hope that you're back in one soon.

I'm only 20, I bought my mx-5 when I was 17. My birthday present when I got my license was first a defensive then an advanced driver training course. It was great for me as it meant that I experienced oversteer, understeer, emergency braking from high speeds and learned a lot of good techniques and habits early on in my driving life. Not trying to sound like I'm preaching, but it was a really good experience for me and probably saved me from having a number of accidents. I would highly recommend that you do likewise irrespective of you doing it in a mx-5, it will be good in any car.
