Help: Re-attaching Driver-side Window's top rubber seal?

The rear top rubber seal on my driver's side window has come off the roof railing and I'm looking for ideas on how to re-attach it. I can push it back in place but it keep s falling out when I lower+raise the roof so I know that I'm going to lose it eventually.
I tried some "stuff" from Bunnings which is supposed to bond between rubber and metal but that fell of as soon as I lowered the roof. The stainless steel roof runner had virtually no glue on it, only the rubber window seal did so I suspect that it simply ran off the stainless steel runner into the rubber seal.
I was recommended to try a marine store since they've usually got a lot bonding products for various surfaces.
Does anyone have any ideas on what may be suitable (actual product names preferred)?
I'm also thinking of attaching some fridge magnetic seal to the rubber and rare-earth magnets to the rail if all else fails. Anyone tried that?
Any feedback appreciated.
- Thanks
