Does anyone with a hardtop know where I can get sleeves for the chrome brackets that secure the hardtop to the body? I've been told that my hardtop is rattleing because my chrome brackets are rubbing on the frankenstein plates

Can you still get these parts from Mazda and what is there official name??
Cheers

The almost resin type stuff within the rear chrome brackets? If they're just worn you can apparently turn them upside down to double their life span.

Yep I've done that and it works a treat but I've been told the chrome brackets are meant to have a rubber sleeve/gasket on the bottom of them to stop the bracket from banging on metal and to give a better fit?

Hi
MX5 Mania stock the rubber pads that go under the chrome deck locks. I just received a pair from them...

I found just tightening the catches made a huge difference. If you pull the deck lock apart, then position it on the car to adjust the latches so they are really snug. Then remove and re-fit the chrome top of the deck locks. While this fixed my rattle, I will still fit the rubber pads to ensure I don't accidentally scratch the car while fitting the hardtop.
My biggest problem was that each side of my car was missing one of the nuts and bolts that secure the locks themselves. I could not find a matching nut anywhere, so I ended up doing a bodgy job with some nuts on my bench grinder. They will have to do until I find something that fits....

Thanks for the advice I'll give it a go once I have the hardtop off the car to fit the rubber feet. By the way Mania sell those nuts for $5.40 each

Thanks Elmo
I have emailed thema couple of times about the nuts, without a response (they have answered any other questions I have asked and I have been buying all the stuff I need from them)... I will try calling them instead!
